The J M Bakery, affectionately known locally as ‘The JM’, has been producing high quality craft bakery and confectionary goods in the picturesque Angus seaside town of Carnoustie for over 40 years. The J M Bakery is a proper traditional bakery, where everything is freshly hand crafted every day for our three High Street retail shops, or specific orders for our many satisfied retail and wholesale customers. At The JM we specialise in all things bakery, from the best morning rolls in Angus and Tayside and our specialist designer wedding and celebration cakes, to our hand crafted buffets – you wont be disappointed with any of our products.
Having acquired the bakery in 2008 from another family member, it is now owned and run by Mark and Sheila Robb who have developed the business by growing on an established reputation for quality and service. With many years experience in the bakery business, Mark and his skilled team of bakers produce our quality goods daily in our Bakery on the High Street in Carnoustie, whilst Sheila and her outstanding sugarcraft and confectionary team, specialise in creating individually tailored Wedding and Celebration cakes in ‘The Cake Studio’ at our High Street shop in Monifieth.
In December 2010, the J M Bakery opened a new shop at 182 High Street, Arbroath completing our third High Street location and in 2015 we refurbished our shop at 27 High Street in Monifieth, incorporating a new facility ~ ‘The Cake Studio’ ~ where you can observe and interact with our confectioners on a personal basis in an environment that befits our quality service.
Our extensive product range includes artisan bread and rolls, patisserie products, meat products, filled rolls, biscuits, fresh cream products, all types of cakes and a buffet range for all occasions – although if we don’t already produce it, we are always willing to try something new for our customers.
At the J M Bakery, we are particularly proud of our Celebration Cake Operation and being based in Carnoustie, Monifieth and Arbroath, we are perfectly situated to deliver our quality Wedding Cakes throughout Dundee, Angus, Tayside and Fife.
Today at the J M Bakery however, we not only offer a retail bakery service to our customers, we also supply our goods wholesale to many local hotels and businesses who are looking for that something a little more special.
We pride ourselves on providing wholesome food to our customers and source the best ingredients to achieve this. Our cake, biscuit and pastry products are made using non-hydrogenated vegetable fats, our meat products are made using only fresh local Scottish Beef and our fresh cream and eggs are sourced from the best local suppliers. We also use Scottish milled flour supplied by Carrs Flour in Kircaldy and oatmeal from Aberfeldy Oatmeal.
